Haven't
we been Successful?
In response to the
"Haven't we been successful?" question, the strategic communication
process must provide the opportunity for employees to honor the old
ways of doing things. They must be encouraged to celebrate past personal
and organizational successes. The process must appeal to both logic
and emotion and involve as many senses as possible.
Honoring the old
way is critical to achieving successful change. If not given the opportunity
to celebrate past successes, employee resistance to change will intensify.
However, the resistance will "go underground" where it is much more
difficult to address and solve.
